ANF foils bid to smuggle huge cache of hashish from Jamrud to Peshawar

KHYBER AGENCY: A bid to smuggle a huge quantity of hashish from Jamrud to Peshawar was foiled by the Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) and Khasadar force at Sakhee Bridge area of tehsil Jamrud of Khyber Agency.

An official of the Jamrud administration told Customs Today that an ANF and Khasadar party, under the head of naib line officer Haji Shoab, adopted extra security measure at Ghundi-Sakhee pul road. A suspected Peshawar bound truck bearing registration no.7241 was stopped for checking on the post. During the search, 420 kilogram hashish was recovered, which was concealed in cavities of the vehicle, official said.

The drug pusher identified as Mir Wali son of Sabz Ali, a resident of Malikdin Khel, Bara, was arrested and put behind the bars for investigation.

The narcotic was smuggled to Peshawar via Sakhee Pul through Mathra, the outskirts of Peshawar, Khasadar told. Meanwhile ANF KPK, intercepted a Nissan truck on Indus Highway road near Afridi hotel Kohat and recovered 84 kilograms charas from accused namely Ahsanullah, a resident of Kohat. A case has been registered against the suspect.
