RTO collects Rs 2,112m from CDA, Iesco

ISLAMABAD: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) has recovered an amount of Rs 2,112 million from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco).

Sources informed Customs Today that the RTO collected Rs 1.88 billion from the CDA under the head of income tax, while Iesco paid Rs 600 million to the Regional Tax Office. According to sources, it is worth mentioning that the RTO recovered Rs 328 million from Islamabad Electricity Supply Company as advance tax after negotiations.

Sources said that RTO has stepped up efforts to enhance revenue generations as the current fiscal year is going to end. Tax officials are also scrutinizing all those cases which are already decided in favour of the tax authorities but the defaulters are avoiding to clear pending income tax.

Regional Tax Office constituted different teams comprising officials of inland revenue who will collect tax from corporate and non-corporate sectors. RTO authorities are also focusing on recovery of tax from government departments.
