Sialkot excise issues 1,8000 notices to defaulters of property, professional taxes

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala Region has issued notices to 18,000 tax evaders of property and professional taxes, including to politicians, factory owners, traders, exporters etc.

Reportedly on the directions of Director General Punjab Akram Asharaf Gondal, Director Gujranwala Region Rao Shakeelur Rehman has taken stern action and issued orders to district officers of the Excise and Taxation Department Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Narowal to compliance the orders to recover dues from tax evaders without any delay.

It is learnt that district officers of said districts have issued final notices to 18,000 tax evaders of property and professional taxes. District officer excise and taxation department Sialkot Muzaffar Qayyum told that final notice have been issued to tax evaders and if they will not pay their tax dues before May 5, 2016 then the department will take strict action against these tax evaders. He told that the process of property sealing is continue whereas the cases would be referred to concerned court rather arrest process will also done against tax evaders.
