Multan Customs Adjudication issues 27 ONOs involving Rs 42m in March

MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication issued 27 Orders-in-Original (ONOs) involving Rs 42.173 million during March of fiscal year 2015-16.

The adjudication issued all the ONOs in favour of the Anti-smuggling Organization and Customs Intelligence and Investigation, which filed all the seizure cases.

The cases which were adjudicated by collector, additional collector and deputy collector include various seizures of foreign origin auto parts, vehicles and other goods.

According to the details, Deputy Collector Farhat Ali settled 20 seizure cases involving Rs 6.315 million, while Additional Collector Fayaz Anwar decided 5 cases involving revenue amounting to Rs 10.20 million. Meanwhile, Collector Raja Anwar Tahir Majeed decided two tax evasion cases involving Rs 25.658 million during the said period.

As many as 36 fresh cases worth Rs 38.667 million were filed before the Multan Customs Adjudication for legal action during March, 2016.

Moreover, the Customs Adjudication settled 266 various cases of Rs 258.697 million during first nine months of the ongoing fiscal year, while 60 various seizure cases are pending with the adjudication due to the absence of the respondents.
