ISLAMABAD: Model Ayyan Ali will appear before a Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday (today). She has challenged the verdict of the customs adjudication regarding imposition of Rs 5 million as penalty.

Sources informed Customs Today that as the post of chairman Customs Appellate Tribunal is lying vacant, she has decided to challenge the decision of the Customs Adjudication in the LHC.  In her petition, she prayed to the court to declare the customs adjudication decision as null and void.

Sources said that the counsel for the customs adjudication will submit their arguments about the validity of the case.

It is necessary to mention here that Supreme Court has already rejected an appeal by Ayyan Ali against inclusion of her name in Exit Control List (ECL). The Supreme Court advised her counsel Sardar Latif Khan Khosa to approach the Sindh High Court in this regard, because the Supreme Court never directed the government to include Ayyan Ali’s name in the Exit Control List (ECL).
