LAHORE: The Anti-Smuggling Organization on Monday seized 1,400 non-customs paid tyres of assorted type including trucks, Mazda buses and mini cars.
Sources told Customs Today that on the information of Collector Customs Zulfiqar Younis, an ASO team headed by Superintendent Munawar Khan raided a godown in Badami Bagh and seized the tyres.
The sources said that the godown belongs to the owner of Tariq Traders. It was added that the total value of the tyers has been determined at Rs 5 million.
The sources said that the customs authorities after impounding the tyres have registered a case and initiated investigations in this regard.
