LAHORE: The Supreme Court on Monday summoned Member Customs Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Nasir Masoor to argue and highlight legal points in a case regarding imposing of custom duty on imported goods.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by acting Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain heard the case filed by Bhanero Textile Mills Limited.
During the course of proceedings, Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that lawyers were nowadays in the habit of citing examples of Indian Supreme Court. Whether the Indian Supreme Court was a special court in the world, he asked and advised the lawyers to give examples of Pakistani courts instead of Indian courts.
Later, the court summoned Member Customs FBR and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
