Customs intelligence impounds Rs 753m vehicles, items in nine months

LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigations has seized Rs 753 million non-customs paid goods, articles and vehicles involving duty and taxes worth Rs 545 million during the nine months of financial year 2015-16. As per official data, the directorate impounded 29 foreign made vehicles worth Rs 58,400,000.

The directorate seized 64512 yards of foreign made cloth worth Rs 6488,406, 490 cartons of tea worth Rs 2241,000 and 2767 pieces of tyres and tubes worth Rs 13, 111500.

The directorate also recovered auto parts worth Rs 4,493,800, mobil oil 120 liters worth Rs 43,200, grease 125 drums worth Rs 5,000,000. The directorate seized 2317 dandas of cigarettes besides miscellaneous goods worth Rs 609631,394.

On the whole the directorate seized vehicles and other items worth Rs 753 million.  The vehicles and goods were seized on the instructions of director customs intelligence Saud Imran Ahmad.
