RTO issues final notice to Capital Feed Mills to recover Rs18m

ISLAMABAD: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued final notice to M/s Capital Feed Mills on not depositing the outstanding amount of Rs 18.44 million in wake of income tax within the stipulated time period.

The RTO has appointed Islamabad High Court’s Advocate Riffat Hussain Malik as the receiver to recover tax amount from the company. Malik has been appointed under Section 2 (138) of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 and Rule 179 Part IV of Chapter XVI of Income Tax Rules, 2002. Inland Revenue Officer Malik Muhammad Sarwar has informed the company about the appointment of the receiver.

It may be mentioned here that the feed mills received notices in December, 2015 but it remained reluctant to deposit the taxes; therefore, a receiver has been appointed for tax recovery.

The person concerned has been given authority regarding the management of business of the feed mills under Section 179 of Income Tax Recovery Rules, 2002 and directed to deposit tax to national kitty on a daily basis.
