Quetta Customs recovers non-duty paid cigarettes, Indian gutkha

KARACHI: The Quetta Customs has recovered a huge quantity of non-duty paid cigarettes and Indian gutkha during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Jadoon received information that a huge quantity of Indian gutkha and non-duty paid cigarettes are being smuggled. Soon after receiving the information, he constituted a team which intercepted a truck near Quetta and recovered 50 cartons of Indian gutkha, and 80 cartons of non-duty paid cigarettes.

The Customs team also arrested two persons who were identified as Kamran Shah and Mohammad Makhdoon. The market value of the seized goods is Rs 3 million. The Customs team forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceedings.
