Collector Appeals Asif Jah decides 208 appeals in 10 months

LAHORE: Collector of Customs Appeals Asif Mehmood Jah has decided 208 appeals involving duty and taxes worth Rs 91 million between July-April 2015-16.

As per details, the collector decided 20 cases during the outgoing month while 13 new appeals were filed afresh. The appeals were filed by the appellants hailing from Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot and Lahore.

The appeals were made against the confiscation of goods and vehicles at the hand of the customs seizing agencies, under invoicing and under and overvaluation. Currently the collectorate has 31 appeals as whole which are awaiting decision.
