Sialkot RTO issues notices to 1,700 tax defaulters

SIALKOT: The Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued 1,700 notices to tax defaulters in the region.

Sources told Customs Today that the RTO issued 1,700 notices to tax defaulters, including politicians, bureaucrats, exporters and industrialists. Sources said that the defaulters were avoiding to pay taxes a long time and without any reason.

RTO Sialkot region, which also includes Sialkot, Narowal and Gujrat districts, has issued notices, warning the defaulters to clear their outstanding tax amount until June 30, 2016 to avoid further legal action.

Sources told if these defaulters will not clear their tax dues till announced date then their properties and other liabilities will sealed till the clearance of default amount. Sources said the default amount is in billions and RTO offices will use all resources to collect outstanding amount so that default amount deposit in national exchequer.
