KARACHI: Customs authorities in Gwadar recovered a huge quantity of narcotics worth Rs 18 million during different operations in the first 15 days of May and arrested seven suspects.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Akram received information about some smuggling attempts. He formed various teams which enhanced their surveillance in the area and recovered 100 bottles of foreign whisky, 800 drums of smuggled Iranian diesel, 60 kilograms of fine quality hashish, 100 imported watches, 50 cameras and other electronic goods.
Sources said that customs teams also impounded vehicles which were being used for transportation of smuggled goods. Customs team after seizes of these goods registered separate cases of smuggling against accused persons.
