Customs Court hears 18 cases on Thursday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Thursday heard 18 cases, including pre-arrest, post arrest bail pleas, and recorded the statements of witnesses.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by accused Imran Pirzada and Salman Dawood were adjourned for new dates. A case against Muhammad Altaf was also scheduled for hearing in which the court recorded statements of the parties. Framing of charges against an accused of narcotics smuggling was also adjourned for next week.

On the day, most of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings as the parties and lawyers concerned did not appear in the court.

Final arguments and statements of the concerned parties in a case of smuggling against Sara Adnan was also scheduled for hearing which is rescheduled for the next week.

Cases of smuggling, tax evasion and narcotics from Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala were scheduled for Thursday.
