BTB registers 120,000 vehicles so far in FY2015-16

LAHORE: The Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) Broadening of Tax Base (BTB) zone registered 120,000 vehicles until now during current fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources told Customs Today that the BTB has expedited efforts to register vehicle having engine capacity more than 1300cc in order to recover taxes, which will ultimately help achieving the set target of the year.

They said that the department has registered 120,000 vehicles of over 1300cc engine capacity so far, adding that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has lauded the efforts of the Lahore BTB.

The sources said that various notices were being issued to the non-taxpayers in order to broaden the tax base.
