Customs Court disposes of bail pleas of two currency smugglers

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has disposed of bail pleas of two suspects allegedly involved in cases of currency smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today that Special Judge Chaudary Ameer Muhamamd Khan has disposed of the bail plea of a suspect, Zeshan Nazeer Butt, who had moved the court for bail. In another case, Customs Court disposed of the bail plea of Shafaat Ali.

Both the suspects were arrested by the customs authorities at Lahore airport while they were making attempt to smuggle huge amount of foreign currency to Dubai which was hidden in their bags.

Sources have told Customs Today that they were booked by the authorities while they got their boarding cards to fly for Gulf state. Customs authorities after registering cases against them started investigations to reach the persons behind them.
