Sialkot Customs starts issuing rebate cheques worth Rs 250m to exporters

SIALKOT: The Model Customs Collectorate has started distributing cheques of rebate claims amounting to Rs 250 million to various exporters who belonged to Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala.

Assistant Collector Zahid Bashir Chaudhary told Customs Today that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan was taking keen interest in settling the refund claims of up to Rs 5 million. He added that the collectorate has received Rs 250 million to issue refunds to the exporters.

After the permission of Customs Collector Ahmad Reza, the cheques were being issued to the exporters against the consignments shipped in 2014, he informed, adding that all pending rebate claims will be settled overtime..

He said that the exporters of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will take benefit from this process of rebate refund.

He said some cases of 2009, 2011 and 2012 are under pending but these cases will be decided soon and their rebate will be paid the exporters concerned.
