DG Customs Valuation revises value of aerosol spray paints

KARACHI: Directorate General Customs Valuation has revised the value of aerosol spray paints. Directorate General issued fresh valuation ruling  No.858\2016, discarding its earlier ruling No.649\2014.

According to sources, an importer of this item has approached the Sindh High Court contending that the valuation is outdated and the rates of the item has decreased in the international market. The Customs officials said that since more than one year has passed and a number of representations were received from importers, hence an exercise was initiated to re-determine the values of the subject item.

According to the fresh ruling,  Aerosol Spray paints would be assessed under the PCT Heading 3208.2090, 3208.9019 and 3208.9090, imported from China at the rate of $0.85 per kilograms. Thailand-origin would be assessed at the rate of $0.90 and  from other countries at the rate of $1.06 per kilograms.
