Customs Court postpones hearing of 21 cases due to non-availability of judge

KARACHI: A Customs Court on Thursday postponed the hearing of 21 cases owing to the absence of special judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi, who is on the leave due to his mother’s demise.

Eight cases, out of 21, were fixed for formal hearing, 11 cases for prosecution evidences and two were fixed for confirmation of bail.

Earlier on Wednesday, the customs court could not take up 27 cases related to custom matters. As many as 20 out of 27 cases were fixed for formal hearing. In normal hearing cases, eight cases belonged to the accused Kaisaf Khan and others, nine cases of accused Abdul Haseeb and two cases of accused Muhammad Saleem and others.

Five out of overall 27, cases were fixed for prosecution evidences against accused Farooq Aziz & others, Abdul Rasheed & others, Sattar Ahmed khan and others. Remaining two cases out of 27, cases were fixed for confirmation of bails of accused namely Waseem Aziz & others and Malik Aziz Ahmed & others.
