MULTAN: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has seized a huge quantity of unregistered and expired drugs from a medical agency.
According to details, FIA held a meeting along with department of health in which drugs control authority shared information about the unregistered medicines. The FIA planned to take action against them in which Drug Controller Sher Shah, Deputy Drug Controller Sajid Mehmood and Drug inspector Usman Ghani assisted the Federal Investigation Agency.
The FIA formed a team including, Inspector Kashif Alvi, Mukhtar Quershi, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Head constable Rao Illiyas. The team raided Muslim Medicine Traders located in the town Hall Ghanta Ghar.
During the action, the FIA team recovered 6,738 tablets of the various unregistered allopathic medicines and a huge quantity of expired medicines which were not suitable for human consumption.
The seized medicines include Penegra (Viagra), time plus, Purzor, injections and various varieties of tablets which are injurious to health.
The team seized the medicines and arrested two accused named Sheikh Muhammad Waseem and Sheikh Muhammad Fayaz from the premises of medicine agency. The value of the seized medicine is almost Rs.8 million.
