FBR for achieving revenue target for financial year 2015-16

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed all collectorates to gear-up efforts to achieve revenue targets by the end of current fiscal year, it is learnt here.

According to the details, the FBR in a letter sent to the Customs Appraisement-South Chief Collector Abdul Rashid Shaikh asked the officials to expedite efforts for revenue collection.

Sources informed Customs Today that the chief collector has passed on the directions issued by the FBR to the collectors of all field formations i.e. Appraisement-West, Appraisement-East and Port Qasim.

The FBR further advised collectorates to utilise all its available resources in order to achieve the revenue target by the end of the current fiscal year.

It is pertinent to mention here that there was a significant decrease in import at port for last one year or so and it is difficult to the field formation collectorates to achieve revenue target which was set by the FBR during the current fiscal year 2015-16.

The sources informed this scribe that the authorities concerned of all field formations have started scrutinising the previous import consignments’ data and also getting success in this regard.
