FBR chief submits revenue collection status, budget proposals to govt

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan has submitted various proposals regarding the upcoming budget and statistics of revenue collection to the Finance Ministry.

According to source, the chairman updated the Ministry of Finance over the current status of the revenue collection, showing firm believe to successfully meet the given target.

In line with the instructions given by the Finance Minister, all out efforts are being made to achieve the target of Rs 3,104 billion for the current fiscal year, the FBR chairman assured.

He informed the ministry that different stakeholders, including chambers of commerce and industry, traders, businessmen, professionals, experts and think tanks have been thoroughly consulted before formulating the proposals for the budget 2016-2017.

In a recent meeting the Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar directed the Chairman FBR to finalize all the proposals keeping in mind about the government’s drive for economic growth. Chairing the meeting Ishaq Dar also reviewed the position of revenue collection and discussed the budget related issues.
