LAGOS: The Tin-Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, (NCS), weekend intercepted three twenty-feet containers carrying sub-standard cables and wires. Customs could not ascertain the value of the sub-standard import but a source close to the service told Vanguard that the Duty Paid Value of the suspected cargo could run into millions of Naira.
The cables and wires were positioned for examination at the Tin-Can Island Container Terminal when officials of the service invited the Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, which confirmed that the cables and wires were sub-standard.
Speaking during hand-over of the containers to officials of SON, Customs Area Comptroller of the command, Mr. Yusuf Bashir said collaboration among sister agencies helped the detection of the prohibited and sub-standard cargoes. 3 0 0 0 YOU MAY LIKE Anxiety in Customs over screening of certificates – Vanguard News 6 feared dead in Customs, smugglers clash in Ogun – Vanguard News How Nigeria can tackle its economic woes, by Saraki – Vanguard News A boy used diabolic means, sexually abused me – Rita Edochie – Vanguard News Stock market set to hit N10trn mark – Vanguard News Five-year jail term for lecturers who sexually molest students if… – Vanguard News ABIODUN View all posts by Abiodun → PREVIOUS POST Family of slain vigilante member seeks justice NEXT POST Consolidation’ll drive efficiency in the MfB sub-sector- CBN You might also like Breaking News: NLC suspends nationwide strike My fiance wiped away my shame Drama as Jonathan Obasanjo, meet `Virgin’ undergraduate, 22, raped to death Tiwa Savage, husband, mum on marriage crash rumour Maheeda goes completely naked in Ikeja TRAGEDY IN PLATEAU: Senator, House Leader, 50 others killed What matters to me during sex — Maheeda Recommended by Disclaimer Comments expressed here do not reflect the opinions of vanguard newspapers or any employee thereof.
