KARACHI: With just a month in hand, Appraisement-South Chief Collector Abdul Rashid Sheikh has ordered field formations to utilise all available resources to achieve this fiscal year’s revenue targets.
The collector held a meeting of all field formation collectorates at his office and reviewed all the revenue-related matters in detail.
Stressing the need for plugging revenue leakages, the Appraisement-South chief collector asked his subordinates to hold weekly meeting, keep daily assessment on clearance of imported consignments at ports and keep vigilant eye on efficiency of the customs officials performing examination and assessment duties. He also ordered them to issue assessment alerts at a regular interval to ensure that maximum revenue is generated.
According to sources, some significant decisions were made at the meeting to successfully achieve revenue targets set by the FBR.
The meeting was attended by the Appraisement-West, Appraisement-East, Port Qasim, Gwadar Customs and Quetta Customs collectors.
During the meeting, all the collectors briefed the Appraisement-South chief collector on the current revenue status of their respective collectorates.
