Customs Appraisement-West collects Rs 26.9b taxes, duties in May

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement-West has collected Rs 26,927 billion taxes/duties under various heads during the month of May 2016.

According to statistics available with Customs Today, the Appraisement-West collected Rs9,941 million under the head of customs duty, Rs12,193 million under the head of sales tax, Rs4,618 million as income tax and Rs 176 million under head of federal excise duty in the month of May 2016.

Significantly, the Customs Appraisement-West collected Rs 1,919 million on the last working day of May 2016 i.e. May 31 that include Rs 712 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 850 million under head of sales tax, Rs 347 million as income tax and Rs 10 million under the head of federal excise duty.

At all, it has collected Rs 249,249 million taxes/duties since July 1 to May 31, 2016 that include Rs 4,263 million under head of customs duty, Rs 110,618 million as sales tax, Rs 42,532 million as income tax and Rs 1,836 million under head of federal excise duty.
