DG Customs Valuation revises customs values of PVC sheet

KARACHI: The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has revised the customs values of PVC transparent, clear flexible/printed sheet vide Valuation Ruling No.862/2016.

Earlier, the customs values of PVC transparent, clear flexible/printed sheet were determined through Valuation Ruling No.409/2011.

According to details, this Directorate General received a number of requests from importers against the said ruling.

The High Court of Sindh in constitutional petition also directed that in cases where the valuation ruling is more than 90 days old, fresh consignments of such importers shall be allowed provisional release by securing the differential amount of duty and taxes in the shape of pay order/ bank guarantee by the director valuation and or the concerned collector without fail.

Since more than two years have been passed and a number of representations were received from commercial importers regarding values determined, an exercise was initiated to re-determine the values of PVC transparent clear flexible/printed sheet under PCT 3920.4300.

The customs values of PVC transparent clear flexible sheet to be imported from China and Taiwan are fixed at $1.55/kg, while rest at $1.85/kg, PVC printed flexible sheet from China and Taiwan at $1.60/kg, other origins at $1.99/kg, PVC cling film of China at $2.01/kg, other origins at $2.75/kg.
