FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Mianwali, has impounded a foreign origin used Toyota Corolla Axio car worth Rs 2.101 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.1 million.
Mianwali ASO Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan received information regarding the smuggling of the vehicle. After receiving the information, the deputy collector constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Chuadhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspectors Azahar Hussain Jaffri, Muhammad Umar Bhatti and Sepoys Sher Ahmad, Muhammad Yousaf and Faiz Ahmad.
The team after intercepting the vehicle asked its owner namely as Rafiullah son of Ahmad Jan to produce legal documents regarding possession of the car but he failed to produce the same. Afterwards, the ASO team impounded the car and registered a case against owner of the vehicle.
