Customs Court seeks investigation challan of Aqil Shah’s case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has again directed the investigation team to present investigation challan of an accused Aqal Shah in a smuggling case.

Earlier, Aqal Shah was sent to jail on judicial remand when Customs Investigation and Prosecution team presented him before the court of Chaudary Ameer Muhammad Khan.

The customs team requested the court that investigation has been completed so the court could send him to jail for judicial trial. Later, the court granted bail to Aqal Shah against surety bonds.

Earlier, it was reported by Customs Today that a team of Customs Intelligence seized non-customs paid items worth millions of rupees and arrested the suspect identified as Aqil Shah. The Customs team stated before the court that they have recovered items including 1,154 kilogram of cloth, 2,555kg soap and 1,850kg welding rods worth Rs 5.6 million, besides impounding the truck bearing Registration No TKY-965 being used for the transportation of the smuggled items. The arrested accused is a resident of Qila Saifullah, Chaman, Balochistan.
