Gujranwala Excise forms 70 teams to recover Rs 2.10 billion from tax evaders

SIALKOT: Gujranwala Excise and Taxation Department has constituted 70 special recovery teams and these teams have started special campaign to recover Rs 2.10 billion from the tax defaulters.

The teams will recover said amount from the six districts of Gujranwala’s division. As per details, the excise officials told Customs Today that the teams will recover Rs 16.5 million as excise duty, Rs 88.5 million as professional tax, Rs 900 million as property tax, Rs 888 million as motor registration tax and Rs 7.65 million in the wake of recreation tax from tax evaders during this special recovery campaign in the Gujranwala region.

District Excise and Taxation Officer Iftikhar Kahot Informed Customs Today that the teams are working to ensure recovery of outstanding amounts from tax evaders. He further said that the teams are using all resources for the recovery of taxes.
