KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has suspended the impugned notice which had suspended the sales tax registration of M/ s M Nadeem Trading Company.
A division bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhter and Justice Abdul Malik Gaddi, heard the petition filed by M/s M Nadeem Trading Company through its proprietor Nadeem Mushtaq, seeking restoration of the sales tax registration.
During the hearing, the deputy attorney general stated that instructions have not been received from the department concerned, however, counsel for the petitioner drawn attention towards the fact that consignments have arrived at the port. Therefore, the court was requested to grant interim relief.
In the last hearing, the counsel for the respondents’ department had requested for some time to submit para wise comments.
Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel stated that petitioner is filing his returns through E-filing of income tax and sales tax returns. However, petitioner was informed that his sales tax registration has been suspended on May 11th, 2016 by officials of the tax authorities.
Citing chairman FBR, commissioner Inland Revenue zone – I, RTO, T & Incharge I.I & P Zone – I ,RTO – I as the respondents, the petitioner pleaded the SHC to set aside impugned order of the respondents and restore its sales tax registration.
