KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday directed the federal government to inform it whether its directives regarding removal of super model Ayyan Ali’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL) have been complied with or not.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, was hearing the plea filed by Ayyan Ali, submitting that the court had allowed the government seven days to approach the apex court to challenge its order and now the given time has ended.

Ayyan’s counsel stated that his client had booked the ticket to go abroad but she came to know that her name still existed in the ECL. The court asked the deputy attorney general that whether its order had been complied with or not. “The compliance report could not be submitted,” the deputy attorney general replied.

While directing the deputy attorney general to file comprehensive report, the court adjourned the hearing till Friday. Earlier on  June 2, the SHC once again directed the relevant authorities to remove Ayyan Ali’s name from the list which restrained her from going out of the country.
