Customs Court hears 13 cases on Friday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling on Friday heard 13 cases, including pre-arrest, post-arrest bail pleas, and recorded the statements of witnesses.

Hearing of pre-arrest bail pleas filed by Muhammad Nasir Durrani, Imran Pirzada and Salman Dawod were adjourned for new dates.

A case against Muhammad Nasir Saeed was also scheduled for hearing in which the court recorded statements of the parties. Accused Nasir is in jail on judicial remand.

Framing of charges against an accused Tariq Butt in a case of narcotics smuggling was also adjourned for next week.

On the day, some of the cases were adjourned without any proceedings as the parties and lawyers concerned did not appear in the court.

Cases of smuggling, tax evasion and narcotics from Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala were scheduled for Thursday.
