Excise seals 353 properties on tax default in Lahore, Kasur

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 353 properties in different areas of Lahore and Kasur on property tax default.

The department has also issued notices to more than 30,000 defaulters to pay their property tax with fine.

Official sources told Customs Today that special teams of Kasur Excise under the supervisions of Excise District Officer Malik Muhammad Aslam have started crackdown against property tax defaulters in the region. In crackdown, the teams have sealed 200 properties, including workshops factories and warehouses and recovered Rs 900,000 in one day from defaulters.

It is pertinent to mention the Kasur region has achieved 98 percent of the target in first 11 months of the fiscal year of 2015-16.

Meanwhile, the excise teams sealed more than 150 properties in different areas of Lahore.

Sources said that on the special directions of DG Akram Ashraf Gondal, the excise directors of all regions have formed special teams to check the property tax defaulters.
