Sources further said that a delegation of exporters had gone to Islamabad with a view to hold a meeting with the FBR high-ups over the rebate claims issue.

The sources further said that the Chairman FBR Nisar Muhammad and Member Customs Nasir Masroor Ahmed were listened the grievances of the exporters and then assured them that their legal issues would be redressed soon.

Later, the FBR authorities through a letter have requested the Federal Ministry of Finance to take some serious steps in this regard.

Keeping the plights of the exporters in front, the Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in a recent budget 2016-17 has announced that the government would issue the rebate claims for the year 2014-15 to the exporters by the advent of next Fiscal Year 2016-17. Following the directives, the FBR has planned to release the rebate claims to the exporters with the start of the next Fiscal Year 2016-17 in order to boost the export of the country.
