Gujranwala Customs recovers non-duty paid Iranian rope

SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation department Gujranwala division team confiscated Iranian nylon rope and cloth worth Rs 200,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Assistant Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Zainab Mehmood instructed Superintendent Muhammad Akmal to depute a team to check vehicles which are being used for transportation of smuggled items.

The superintendent directed Inspectors Mian Muhammad Yousaf and Majid Raza to check vehicles on GT Road to curb smuggling. Both inspectors along with their team members Babar, Riaz, Rehman etc.checked several vehicles. The Customs team intercepted a van bearing registration No.PR-3389-KPK and searched the vehicle thorougly and recovered smuggled Iranian nylon rope and cloth Bashoor worth Rs 200,000.

The team asked the drive of the vehicle who was identified as Gul Habib about documents and customs clearance of confiscated Iranian nylon rope and cloth but he failed to satisfy the team.The team confiscated rope and cloth and released the driver after proper interrogations.
