Sargodha ASO seizes non-duty paid Seira Jimni jeep

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has impounded a non-duty paid used Seira Jimni jeep model 1983 bearing registration number BA-9566 in Sargodha. The market value of the seized vehicle is Rs 12 million while its involving customs duty value is Rs 800,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received information that the vehicle is brought into the country through an unauthorized route and without payment of duty and taxes.

After receiving the information, deputy collector constituted a raiding team comprising superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar and Bashir Ahmed, Ansir Saleemi Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Ameen Shafqat, Mehmood Muhammad Feroz, Muhammad Mansha (sepoys).

The ASO team intercepted vehicle near 47 adda Sargodha and asked the owner of the vehicle, who was identified as Nosherwan son of Abdul Sittar, a resident of Pire Muhammad Colony College Road Sargodha, to produce legal documents regarding the import of the vehicle but the owner failed to provide the same. Upon his failure, the ASO team seized the vehicle and registered a case against him.
