ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) fulfilled another legal requirement to become member of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
Sources told Customs Today that according to this law, any bank official who will disclose any information or details to media, will have to face six months imprisonment. This law will restrict officials from disclosing any investigations to the media.
It is necessary to mention here that all member countries of OECD are bound to keep secrecy about on going investigations and this law will also be imposed on Pakistani banks. All members countries of OECD will cooperate with each other on investigations against any account holder who is a resident of any member country.
Sources said that the particular person will himself will unaware about these investigations. Only after completion of investigations the authorities will determine the main accused.
