MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan has seized a non-duty paid Mazda mini truck during a crackdown.
According to details, the Customs Intelligence authorities received information regarding the movement of a non-customs paid truck in Multan. The Customs Intelligence team intercepted a Mazda mini truck having registration number of AH-0072/ Shikarpur and chassis number 793005 from Vehari road in an action. The model of the impounded Mazda mini truck was 1982.
The Customs teams asked the driver to provide legal documents regarding the ownership of the mini Mazda but the driver failed to produce any documents. The Customs team found that the seized truck was non-customs paid during the inspection. Therefore Customs Intelligence and Investigation have seized the Mazda mini truck under Customs Act 1969. The worth of the seized Mazda mini truck is almost Rs2.5 million and duty taxes of Rs1 million. Further investigation of the seized truck is still under process.
Meanwhile, Multan Customs have detained four imported LCD s on non-payment of duty and released after the collection of duty at Multan International Airport.
Sources told Customs Today, that Multan Customs officials deputed at Multan airport carried out examination of the luggage reached at Multan airport from Dubai and teams recovered four various LEDs brands from the luggage of two passengers . Customs teams asked the passenger to provide its import documents of these four imported LEDs,of Samsung ,Bravia HD and Sony. Passengers failed to produce any import documents then they paid duty taxes of Rs5200 at the Multan International Airport and Customs teams released the said LEDs after collection of duty and taxes.
