Customs to hold auction of vehicles, goods on June 23

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Collector Dr Arslan Subuctageen has approved the auction of impounded vehicles and other goods on June 23, 2016.

According to the details, Assistant Collector Tahir Iqbal Khattak will hold auction at Customs State Warehouse situated in sector G-12 Islamabad. The assistant collector said that the department was going to hold third auction in June in order to generate maximum revenue at the end of current fiscal year.

The assistant collector said that approximately Rs 30 million would be earned through the auction of impounded vehicles and goods.

Tahir said that 35 vehicles and about 10 other lots would be offered in the transparent public auction. The vehicles including Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Crown, Toyota double cabin, Toyota surf, Toyota Hiace, Toyota Sprinter, Nissan sports car, Nissan Safeco, Nissan Magma, Nissan double cabin will be available at auction.

The people of Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Peshawar will participate in the said auction. It will be an open auction for all goods.

Meanwhile, the officials said that Collector Dr Arslan was optimistic to achieve the set revenue target before the end of current fiscal year 2015-16, adding that all wings of the collectorate, including dry port, Air Freight Unit (AFU), Anti-Smuggling Organisation and other departments were making efforts to realise the target.
