FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed served show cause notices on three persons through Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation. The suspects were allegedly involved in using smuggled Hino trucks.
In the first case, Collector Raja Tahir Majeed issued notice to Rashid son of Ali Asghar, a resident of Chack No. 209/GB, Toba Tek Singh. The customs officials impounded a truck bearing Registration AE-1126, which was being used by the accused person by violating the customs laws. The adjudication has directed the suspect to file his reply within the given time, which is also last date of hearing.
The collector also issued notices to Mohammad Azam son of Abdul Hameed and another suspect, Khalid Mahmood, who are also nominated in a non-duty paid Hino truck case.
All the said cases were detected by the Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the different raids in the region. The intelligence staff impounded the trucks under the customs laws after the accused persons remained fail to show documents regarding the legal import of the vehicles.
The notices issued on the violation of Section 16, 18 of the Customs Act, 1969 and called upon to show cause as to why the seized item should not be confiscated under provisions of law.
