LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has adjourned the bail plea of an accused who is on remand in mobile phones and LED,s smuggling case.
According to details available to Customs Today an accused Khuram Shahzad was booked by the Customs Intelligence Sialkot. He was involved in the smuggling of hundreds mobile phones of different models and companies and LEDs TV’s were also recovered from his possession. He has filed a petition of his bail from the court that is adjourned for next week by the court.
Sources told customs today that total value of the recovered goods is Rs3.5 million. Accused was a professional smuggler and has a big network in Lahore, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Peshawar to make his smuggled goods safe at every step during shifting from tribal; areas to big cities of Punjab.
Earlier he was in custody of Customs Investigation and prosecution for interrogation regarding his act of smuggling and to dig out persons behind him.
Customs Investigation and Prosecution Sambrial Sialkot has registered a case against him under section 2, (s), 16, 139, 157(1),m and 178 of Pakistan customs act 1969.
