PCA detects tax evasion of Rs8.8m by M/s RSB Medical

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) has detected tax evasion of Rs 8.8 million by M/s RSB Medical and directed the company to pay the short paid amount as early as possible.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that M/s RSB Medical imported 32  consignments of calcium phosphate through two clearing agents namely SZA International and Salah Associates from January 2014 to March 2016.

Sources said that company availed undue benefits and concessions by Customs Appraisement and caused a loss of Rs 8.8 million to national kitty. During scrutiny it was revealed that company availed illegal benefits by showing PCT heading.

It is necessary to mention here that from May 2016 departments of Post Clearance Audit detected tax evasion to the tune of Rs 360 million and deposited the same in national kitty. Now only few cases are still under process by PCA authorities.
