Sargodha ASO recovers non-duty paid computer monitors, Mazda truck

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has recovered a huge quantity of non-duty paid computer monitors and also impounded a Mazda truck involving customs duty to the tune of Rs 233,363.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad received information regarding some smuggling attempts. He formed a customs team comprising Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar (superintendent), Bashir Ahmad, Mehar Ameer Ali, Ansar Saleemi (inspector) and Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Iqbal, Shafqat Mehmood and Muhammad Mansha (sepoys).

That ASO team intercepted a Mazda truck bearing registration no LOK- 5194 which was coming from Peshawar to Sargodha and recovered huge quantity of smuggled computer monitors. The ASO team asked the driver and his companion, who were identified as Muhammad Yousaf khan son of Muhammad Ilyas, to produce legal documents regarding the possession of goods. But they failed to provide any relevant documents. The ASO team seized the goods and forwarded the case to the customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
