Sara-e-Muhajir ASO impounds illegally imported Mitsubishi Pajero

FAISALABAD: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Sara-e- Muhajir, has impounded a non-duty paid Mitsubishi Pajero near Dulywala MM Road district Bhakkar. The market value of the vehicle is Rs 1,313,559 involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 913,559.

Sources told Customs Today, Additional Collector Saeed Asad received secret information that some non-duty paid and illegally imported vehicles are plying on different roads of Bhakkar. He immediately conveyed the information to Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan.

A team was constituted under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan which also includes Suprintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, inspectorAzhar Hussain Jafri, Muhammad Umar and Sher Ahmed, Said Rasool, Faiz Ahmed others.

The ASO team intercepted Mitsubishi Pajero jeep in golden colour  bearing registration no. SAC- 9339 (Sheikhupura ), model 1990 and asked for customs clearance documents from owner Muhammad Akbar son of Muhammad Sharif.

The owner failed to produce the required documents. After his failure the ASO team seized the Mitsubishi Pajero. The customs authorities registered a case and initiated investigations in this regard.
