DG Customs Valuation Wasif Memon determines valuation of linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid

KARACHI: Director General Customs Valuation Wasif Ali Memon determines valuation of linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid (soft and hard type), issues Valuation Ruling No 889/2016.

In exercise of the power conferred under section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969, the customs value of linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid (soft and hard type), has been determined by the department.

The meeting woth stakeholders including importers and M/s Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association  (PCDMA) Karachi and representatives of trade bodies was held on 27-06-2016 to discuss the current international prices of the subject goods. The view point of all participants was heard in detail and considered to arrive at customs value for subject goods.

Custom value for linears alkyl benzene sulphonic acid  (soft and hard type): Linears alkyl benzene sulphonic acid  (soft and hard type) hereinafter specified shall be assessed to duty/taxes at the following values are H. S Code 3402.1110 and 3402.1190 whereas proposed PCT WeBOC 3402.1110.1000 and 3402.1190.2000.  All origins stands for customs values (C&F) US $/kg 1.250 on the other hand H. S Code 3402.1110 and 3402.1190 whereas proposed PCT WeBOC 3402.1110.3000 and 3402.1190.4000 Iran imported by Land route stands for Custom Values (C&F) US $/kg 1.230.

The valuation determined vide this Ruling shall be the applicable customs values for assessment of subject imported goods until and unless it is rescinded or revised by the competent authority in terms of Sub section  (4) of Section 25-A or section 25-D of the Customs Act. 1969.

A revision petition may be filed against the ruling as provided under section 25-D of the Customs Act 1969 within 30 days from the data of issuance of this ruling, therefore the Director General of Customs Valuation 7th floor Customs House, Karachi.

The collectors of customs may kindly ensure that the values given in the ruling for the given description of goods are applied by the concerned staff without fail. Any anomaly observed may kindly be brought to the notice of this Directorate General immediately for redressal.
