Jhang ASO impounds Hino truck worth Rs 3 million

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO), Jhang, has impounded a Hino ranger Truck worth Rs 3 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 810,000 during an action.

Sources told to Customs Today that ASO Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joyia received information regarding a non-duty paid Hino truck and he formed a team comprising Inspector Munir Ahmad, Inspector Shaukat Khan, Inspector Khalid Ashraf Noor, and sepoys Muhammad Ajmal, Ahmad Bux and Ghulam Sarwar to impound the vehicle.

The team held a checkpoint near Faisalabad Bypass Road Jhang City and intercepted Hino Ranger bearing Registration No LXK-8493, which was coming from Lahore for Jhang. The officials asked the driver named Muhammad Abbas and owner of the vehicle, Javed Wazir Ali, to show documents regarding the customs clearance but he remained failed.

Therefore, the truck was impounded under Section 187 of the Customs Act 1969 considering it smuggled one. The seizure report has been sent to adjudication for further legal action.
