Central Region’s sales tax collections up 14pc in June

LAHORE: Customs Central Region under the supervision of Chief Collector of Customs Samaira Nazir Khan has collected Rs 11,391 million on account of sales tax, showing a growth of 14 percent during the last month of financial year 2015-16.

According to details, the four collectorates of Central Region also showed growth tendency in sales tax collections.

Customs Appraisemnt Lahore registered growth of 4 percent, Customs Preventive Lahore posted growth of 9 percent, Multan collectorate registered growth of 9 percent while Faislaad collectorate posted growth of 162 percent during the month of June 2016.

According to data Customs Appraisement collected Rs 5062 million against assigned target of Rs 4875 million during the period under review while the Customs Preventive collected Rs 1050 million against the set target of Rs 968 million.

The collectorate of Multan collected Rs 4012 million against the target of Rs 3667 million during the last month of FY 2015-16.

Likewise, the Faislabad collectorate of Central Region was able to collect Rs 1265 million  against the target of the month Rs 483 million.

Over all the Customs Central Region collected Rs 11391 million under the head of sales tax during the month of June 2016.

Previously, Customs Central Region registered 44 percent growth of sales tax collection by collecting Rs13369 million against the target of Rs9284 million during the month of May 2016.

The collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 4461 million registering a growth of 39 percent against target of Rs3200 million.

The collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs1026 million registering a growth of 33 percent against target Rs772 million.

Collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs6521 million registering growth of 36 percent against the target of Rs4789 million while the collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs1359 million sales tax registering 161 percent growth against the target of Rs 521 million.

The Central Region collected Rs 13369 million sales tax revenue registering overall growth of 44 percent during the period under review.
