PRA seals Namak Mandi restaurant on charges of sales tax evasion

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has sealed some renowned restaurants which are located in posh areas of Lahore due to sales tax evasion.

According to the details, special teams of PRA have started crackdown against luxury restaurants that are involved in evasion of sales tax. During this campaign, the Punjab Revenue Authority has sealed  famous restaurant Namak Mandi in Faisal Town area on charge of sales tax evasion. Top officials of PRA said that restaurant was earning huge profits but avoiding to pay duties, taxes willfully.

Earlier on special directions of Commissioner Javed Ahmad, the teams took action against Al Kabab restaurant in Gulberg and sealed it. PRA has also confiscated the sales record of the restaurant for further investigations.

Meanwhile in another crackdown PRA team took action against Zakir Tikka located in Johar Town, the above said restaurant was receiving taxes from customers but not paying to the government. In another action in Faisal Town, the officials also sealed a restaurant on sales tax evasion.
