Hyderabad Customs Intelligence, Rangers destroys 8 illegal petrol pumps

KARACHI: During a joint operation, the Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Rangers have destroyed eight petrol pumps which were selling illegal Iranian fuel.

During the action, the team seized thousand liters Iranian fuel from these petrol pumps. As per details, ASO Deputy Collector Umar Shafiq formed a team on the special instructions of Collector Agha Shahid Majeed and raided the area of District Umar Kot to destroyed illegal petrol pumps.

The teams raided at illegal petrol pumps and seized fuel and nozzles which available there at the time of action while 8 persons were arrest including 5 owners of the petrol pumps. The Customs officials told that the value of sized fuel is more than Rs 10 million. It is pertinent to mention here the Customs Collectorate had started crackdown against illegal petro pumps during Ramzan in which more than 20 petrol pumps has been destroyed during different actions. The team seizes thousands liters Iranian oil from these petrol pumps while 30 persons were arrested and filed case against them.
