Customs anti smuggling wing impounds 35 non-duty paid vehicles in 2 months

KARACHI: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Anti smuggling Wing) has expanded the crackdown against the non-duty paid vehicle across Sindh.

According to the source, the Directorate, on the directives of the Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Imtiaz Ahmed, has impounded 35 non-duty paid vehicles during the last two months and registered cases against the suspects.

The officers have also beefed up the surveillance on the border areas whereas strict checking is also under way on the roads against the non duty paid vehicles. The net of the informers has also been spread across the Sindh to get the information regarding the arrival and the movements of the non duty paid vehicles, added source.

During the last two months the Customs Intelligence and Investigation (Anti Smuggling Wing) has successfully busted expensive thirty five non duty paid vehicles from the Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.

The source also informed that the Director General Customs Intelligence & Investigation Imtiaz Ahmed has issued the directives to the officers to strictly verify the documents of the vehicles and bond the vehicles if any necessary document is found short, no matter vehicle belongs to any person or officials.
